OUR 6-MONTH WARRANTY POLICY
DEAR VALUED CUSTOMER
Please note that our range of goods and products consist
of
Unboxed & Pre-Owned Merchandise. Please ensure
your product purchase was demonstrated to your satisfaction to confirm that it
meets your intended requirements!
INTRODUCTION
At REAL
DEALZ our policy aims to comply with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008
("CPA") of South Africa. Most of the merchandise purchased from our
retail store carries a 6-Month Warranty, Merchandise is intended and guaranteed
for Household / DIY/ Recreational use only. Any instructions for safe and
proper use as instructed or accompanying the goods must be followed. NB: Any
item purchased and returned under warranty may first be subject to inspection
through a suitably qualified service center which will provide confirmation
that a fault, defect or malfunction occurred as a result of a pre-existing
issue and not due to customer abuse or any other factor forming part of the
exclusions list.
Disclaimer: Please note that, while every
attempt is made to sell quality unboxed and second-hand goods, these products
may not last as long as their brand-new counterparts and may not always be in a
perfect condition.

quality unboxed and pre-owned merchandise. This 6-Month Warranty Policy
outlines the terms and conditions regarding the warranty coverage for
merchandise purchased from our retail store.
WARRANTY COVERAGE
1. ELIGIBLE PRODUCTS
This Policy applies to all pre-owned and
unboxed household goods, technology products (including cell phones, cameras,
laptops etc.), and general household goods and appliances purchased from our
retail store.
2. WARRANTY PERIOD
All eligible products are covered by a 6-month
warranty period commencing from the date of purchase as indicated on your
receipt or proof of purchase.
3. SCOPE OF WARRANTY
During the warranty
period, we guarantee that eligible products:
● Are reasonably suitable for the
purposes for which they are generally intended
● Are of good quality, in good
working order, and free from material defects
● Will remain functional and
operational for a reasonable period (taking into account that these are unboxed
or pre-owned items)
This warranty specifically covers
● Manufacturing defects that were
not disclosed at the time of purchase
● Functional failures that were not
caused by customer misuse
● Issues that render the item
unusable for its intended purpose
OUR COMMITMENT
For a period of 6 months after
purchase/delivery, you as our customer may return goods that fail to meet
thestandards and requirements of Section 55 of the CPA. If your claim is valid
for defects and faults (not caused by our list of exclusions) other than those
that were present at the time of purchase, we will at our discretion,
unequivocally:
● Repair the product, OR
● Replace with similar item, OR
● Issue store credit, OR
● Provide a refund – 48 hours
LIMITED
WARRANTIES
Limited warranties are warranties provided expressly on an
item due to its nature, sensitivity, function or specific characteristic which
will be valid for no more than 24 hours after
purchase/delivery of the product, these are a list of such items:
- Batteries of any kind
- Car Audio, vision equipment (not
professionally installed through a VAT-registered vendor)
- CDs, DVDs, Game discs
- Electronic audio systems &
Games Speakers
- Original pre-installed software,
console, TVs, Electronics - equipment sold also intended only for original
discs and content to be used. No ‘read error’ will be accepted warranty claims
will be void.
- Sporting goods/gear and Scuba Gear
are sold as is in their specific condition
- Petrol motors (lawnmowers, quad
bikes, generators, chainsaws) tested to customer satisfaction before purchase
- Other limited-specific items
WHAT'S NOT COVERED - LIST
OF EXCLUSIONS
Section 53(1)(a)(i) of the Consumer Protection Act defines a
defect as a material imperfection in the manufacture of the products or
components, or in performance of the services, that renders the
products or results of the service less acceptable than persons generally would
be reasonably entitled to expect in the circumstances.
The following list of exclusions will NOT
be considered as defects and will not carry a warranty nor entitle you to
return the item:
✗ Normal wear and tear and
appropriate for unboxed or pre-owned merchandise
✗ Damage from
user abuse, misuse, negligence or improper handling
✗ Cosmetic
issues functions or conditions disclosed or apparent at purchase
✗ Any
unauthorized tampering, alterations, repairs, modifications
✗ Water/liquid damage
✗ Software issues not
related to hardware and/or viruses/malware related damage
✗ Damagearising from an
electrical/power surge/load shedding
✗ Damaged as a result of
animal pests, pets or Insect infestations, goods will not be accepted in such
condition - voids warranty
✗ Any damagesas a result of
natural elemental conditions and/or sea air corrosion
✗ Failure to
properly/adequately care and provide maintenance on the product
✗ Product specific
consumables or accessories such as bulbs, batteries, guitar strings,
light bulbs, etc.
✗ Gas appliances and
equipment
✗ Problems arising from
compatibility issues with other equipment
✗ Damage resulting from
failure to follow operating instructions
✗ Post purchase dissonance –
where the product or specifications of a product do not
suit you
✗ Lost or stolen items

WARRANTY PROCESS
1. CLAIM PROCEDURE
To make a claim
under this guarantee:
● Return the item to our retail
store
● Present your original receipt or
proof of purchase
● Provide a detailed description of
the issue or defect – complete form
● Allow our technical team to assess
the product
2. ASSESSMENT PERIOD
We will assess all claims within 7
business days of submission. For complex technical issues, this period may be
extended to 14 business days.
3. REMEDIES
If we determine that
your claim is valid under this Policy, we will, at our discretion, provide one
of the following remedies:
● Repair the defective product
● Replace the product with a similar
item of comparable value and condition
● Issue a store credit for the
purchase amount
● Refund the purchase amount – up to
48 hours
Our decision
regarding the appropriate remedy will consider:
● The nature of the defect
● The age and condition of the item
● Current stock availability
● The reasonable expectations for
the lifespan of an unboxed or pre-owned item
4. REPAIR TIMEFRAME
Where repair is the chosen remedy, we aim
to complete repairs within 21 business days. If the repair cannot be completed
within this timeframe, we will provide a replacement or refund.
FRAUD PREVENTION MEASURES
1. VERIFICATION PROCESS
To prevent
fraudulent claims, we reserve the right to:
● Verify the purchase in our system
● Request additional information or
documentation
● Conduct a thorough technical
assessment
● Check serial numbers against our
inventory records
2. PROOF OF PURCHASE
All warranty claims
require valid proof of purchase that clearly identifies:
● The specific item purchased
● The date of purchase
● The purchase price
● The store location
3. TAMPERING
Products showing evidence of tampering,
unauthorized repairs, or serial number removal/alteration will void this
warranty.
CUSTOMER RIGHTS UNDER THE
CPA
This Policy operates alongside your
statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, which provides
that:
● Consumers have the right to
receive goods that are reasonably suitable for their intended purpose
● Used goods may be sold "as
is" if the consumer is expressly informed that the goods are offered in a
specific condition
● For a period of 6 months after
purchase/delivery, consumers may return goods that fail to meet the standards
and requirements of Section 55 of the CPA
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the extent permitted by applicable
law, our liability is limited to the remedies stated in this Policy and shall
not exceed the original purchase price of the product.
AMENDMENTS TO THIS POLICY
We reserve the right to modify this
Policy at any time. Any modifications will not apply retroactively to purchases
made prior to the modification date.

This Policy is effective from 01 May 2025 and applies to
all eligible purchases made on or after this date. We reserve the right to
modify this Policy at any time. Any modifications will not apply retroactively
to purchases made prior to the modification date.
